Holy Orders

Holy Orders is the sacrament through which the mission entrusted by Christ to his apostles continues to be exercised in the Church In the Sacrament of Holy Orders, or Ordination, the individual being ordained a priest vows to lead other Catholics by bringing them the sacraments (especially the Eucharist), and by proclaiming the Gospel, and other means to holiness through the sacrament of an apostolic ministry which includes three degrees: episcopate, presbyterate, and diaconate.
